Accomplishments: 2019-2022
- Established website for Pike Township Trustee’s Office to better serve our community.
- Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, provided on-line assistance for Township residents.
- Secured a new location for IMPD Northwest District Headquarters to provide additional police presence in our community.
- Kept our Pike Township Fire Department on the job to serve our community.
- Hired the first African-American as Chief of the Pike Township Fire Department.
- Recruited and hired the most diverse recruit class in Pike Township Fire Department history.
- Provided meeting space at no cost for use by community organizations.
- Launched Township Faith-Based Coalition Group composed of Pastors, Clergy, and Community Leaders to coordinate social service delivery options for residents.
- Coordinated Community Clean-ups in partnership with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful.
- Opened an on-Site Food Pantry for use by residents of our Township.
- Provided yearly Thanksgiving support for our families.
- Coordinated holiday Toy Drive for clients in need of support.
- Held yearly Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Giving Food Drive.
- Implemented a Community Re-Cycling Dumpster in conjunction with the Department of Public Works Office of Sustainability
- Posted an electronic Community Employment Board to assist residents with job searches.
- Held on-Site Job Fairs to highlight job placement options.
- Placed an on-Site Kiosk in coordination with the Marion County Court Probation Office.
- Hosted an on-Site remote “Second Chance” Workshop.
- Held “Understanding Your License” workshop in partnership with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
- Work with Small Claims Judge Douglas Stephens to distribute COVID Relief Funds to reduce rental evictions.
- Enlisted the support of IndyRent and Indianapolis Legal Aid to provide additional assistance to individuals.
